Our collection includes more than one thousand works by over three hundred artists. It features sculptures, installations, environments, paintings, photographs, and videos created from the 1950s to today. The collection has grown over the decades through Centro Pecci’s acquisitions and through many donations from artists and collectors. There are particularly strong sections dedicated to Arte Povera, Italian Transavantgarde, artists from the former USSR, and artist photography. The collection also includes important sections focused on Radical Architecture, Artist Cinema in Tuscany (1964–1980), and Artist Books.
The collection has grown over the decades through Centro Pecci’s acquisitions, often linked to its exhibitions, as well as through many donations from artists and collectors.
A collection of Italian and European artworks has been built through purchases by the Friends of the Museum and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Prato, as well as through the donation of the Beccaglia family collection. An important group of works related to Poesia Concreta and Poesia Visiva, along with music and performance, was donated by art dealer Carlo Palli. Additional collections come from the family of Luciano Ori, from the archive of Mario Mariotti, and from the collection of Leonardo Savioli and Flora Wiechmann, donated to the Region of Tuscany. Since 2015, the collection has also included an important long-term loan of artworks from the Alessandro Grassi collection.
